The majority of these companies have had a great deal of turn-over to lack of pay. They are essentially a steeping stone in life. I have noticed a trend of applications developers becoming website developers and vice verse. This poses a problem for future developers in taking over the site.<br /><br />Applications developers this of everything as object oriented, all the way down to performing a query. I have seen it to many times that one must update a different page because a form that is only used once was create in it's own file and included in the site.<br /><br />This is a waste of time for everyone. Make pages run efficient and the time to maintain them the same. Don't code a website so that the only one who can make any sense out of it is you. Use some judgment when creating functions or classes. Over the last 12 years I have only come across a couple of instances where classes we necessary at all.<br /><br />Copies, grill developers before you hire them. Check there references and ask the right questions.
